A night light that counts down the nights until your return from your trip

The KLM Nights Light, is a night light that counts down the nights until you return home from your trip. Time can be an abstract concept for kids and “How many nights” is a familiar sentence to those often travelling for work. To solve this problem and promote KLM’s business travel, we collaborated with DDB & Tribal Amsterdam who did the strategy and concept for the campaign while we designed and produced the night light.

Our role

We designed, developed and manufactured several thousands of the KLM Nights Light. This includes the industrial design, electronic engineering, interaction design, injection moulding, and ensuring the manufacturability throughout the design process. We manufactured in China and took care of the production and logistics around shipping the products over to The Netherlands. As it is a product that would be distributed in Europe, we also also had to conform to the strict CE regulations surrounding an electronic product.
